Assim, pensou que sua criação, seria uma maneira de substituir a tradicional forma de se produzir uma peça estofada, que necessita de várias etapas produtivas como estrutura, revestimento, estofamento, etc. Isso poderia ser um grande benefício ambiental, por se estarem simplificando técnicas produtivas e reduzindo a poluição resultante do transporte de várias peças.

Através de sua experimentação com impressoras 3D juntamente com elemento escolhido, o nylon, ela descobriu que algumas partes de sua peça eram mais macias e outras mais rígidas. Assim, em áreas com menor densidade de impressão é possível conseguir maior flexibilidade. Este que foi o primeiro protótipo de Lilian foi possível graças à 3D Systems Benelux.
